Privacy Policy

Plain language about what InLibrus™ collects, why, and who it touches. The short version: very little, and it isn't sold.

This Privacy Policy explains how InLibrus™ ("InLibrus," "we," "us," or "our"), the InLibrus™ service and its owner, collects, uses, and shares information when you visit this website or use the InLibrus™ service (collectively, the "Service"). InLibrus™ is operated by its owner, an individual based in Tennessee, United States. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Access requests. When you submit the access-request form on this website, we collect your name, email address, and any optional book-of-interest, referral, or message text you choose to include.
  • Account email. If you are admitted to the beta, you sign in through Cloudflare Access using an email address, which we use to identify your account and your saved playthroughs.
  • Playthrough content. The book, character, dial settings, and messages you create during play are stored so your playthrough can be saved and resumed.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical and log data. Like most websites, our infrastructure provider records basic technical information such as IP address, browser/device type, and request logs for security, abuse-prevention, and reliability.
  • Local storage. The app may store session and preference data in your browser to keep you signed in and remember your settings. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

2. How we use information

  • To respond to your access request and communicate with you about the beta.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service and your saved playthroughs.
  • To generate narrative content through our AI provider (see Section 3).
  • To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. The AI Narrator

InLibrus is an AI service. The Narrator is powered by Anthropic's Claude models — you are interacting with artificial intelligence, not a human. To produce responses, the text of your playthrough (your messages and the relevant story state) is sent to Anthropic's API. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected and is fiction for entertainment; do not rely on it as factual, professional, legal, medical, or other advice, or as a substitute for the original book.

4. Service providers and third parties

We rely on a small number of vendors ("sub-processors") to run the Service. They process information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies:

Their policies: Anthropic Privacy Policy, Cloudflare Privacy Policy, Resend Privacy Policy. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of InLibrus™ or others.

5. Data retention

We keep access-request details only as long as needed to evaluate and communicate about access. We keep your account email and saved playthrough content for as long as your account is active, and will delete it on request or within a reasonable period after the beta ends or your account is closed.

6. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the access-request information we hold about you by emailing support@inlibrus.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or California law; we will honor applicable rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is intended only for adults (18 and older) and is not directed to minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. In particular, consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe anyone under 18 (including a child under 13) has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, and rely on reputable providers, to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Do Not Track

We do not track users across third-party websites over time, so we do not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals. We do not allow third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your activity across different websites through the Service.

10. International users

The Service is operated from the United States and our providers process data in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify users. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
